Common Design Concerns
• Cam travel and the engagement depth of the connecting bolt must match, or the joint will not draw the panels fully together
• Cam rotation torque must stay in range: too low and the joint loosens in service, too high and the user cannot seat it with a hand tool
• Hole position and depth in the panel must match the cam and bolt set, or the two panels will not align at the joint face
• Where the bolt carries a knurled section, that knurl is a retention feature inside the plastic dowel, so its form and depth decide pull-out resistance
• Plating buildup on the cam bore and the bolt affects how the cam grips, so coating thickness has to be controlled on both halves
